and so are the rewards. The Financial Crimes Engineering team
builds and maintains the systems that support Robinhood’s
compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions
regulations. The team builds and operates multiple detection
platforms and the supporting tooling experience for all verticals
within Financial Crimes—helping prevent misuse of the financial
system. We partner closely with Financial Crimes Operations and
product engineering teams to design reliable, scalable systems that
protect our customers and the broader ecosystem. Our work is
central to maintaining trust, meeting regulatory requirements, and
strengthening the integrity of our platform. As an Engineering
Manager, FinCrimes, you will lead a team of engineers responsible
for building next-generation detection systems along with internal
tools and platforms that support best-in-class investigation
experience. You will own the end-to-end delivery of our detection
platforms, supporting multiple products across jurisdictions. You
will also drive detection strategy, case management enablement, and
the tooling and operational workflows required to onboard new use
cases and support upcoming product launches. This role combines
hands-on technical depth with people leadership, and it offers the
opportunity to shape how AI and large language models are applied
to improve investigation workflows and system performance! This
role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person
attendance expected at least 4 days per week. At Robinhood, we

high-performing teams. What you’ll do ? Lead, mentor, and grow a
team of engineers (IC3–IC5), setting clear goals, providing regular
feedback, and supporting career development ? Build a top-tier
tooling experience, leveraging AI to streamline workflows, improve
analyst efficiency, and accelerate investigation operations. ?
Guide onboarding of new financial crimes use cases into our case
management systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and
regulatory alignment. ? Contribute to architectural decisions and
remain technically engaged in systems built with Golang, Python,
AWS, Kubernetes, and SQL-based data stores. ? Partner with
Financial Crimes Operations and peer engineering teams to translate
regulatory and investigative requirements into technical solutions.
? Establish strong engineering processes across on-call,
deployment, and code review practices, maintaining high system
availability and quality. What you bring ? Experience leading and
developing engineers in a high-growth technology environment, with
a track record of delivering multi-quarter technical initiatives. ?
Strong technical depth in backend systems, with hands-on experience
in Golang (primary), Python, AWS, Kubernetes, and SQL. ? Experience
building or supporting financial crimes, fraud, compliance, or
fintech systems; familiarity with AML or sanctions screening
workflows is preferred. ? Experience designing and delivering
data-intensive systems, ideally including detection platforms, data
pipelines, or internal tooling. ? Working knowledge of machine
learning or generative AI concepts, with the ability to evaluate
and apply them to platform use cases. ? Ability to collaborate
effectively with operations, product, and engineering partners to
deliver systems that meet regulatory and business requirements.

pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus
opportunities equity benefits. Base pay for the successful
applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which
may include education, training, experience, location, business
needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role
is based on the location where the work will be performed and is
aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not
listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during
the interview process. Base Pay Range: Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New
York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC) $230,000 - $270,000 USD
Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL) $203,000 - $238,000
USD Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)
