Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: At least 2 years of Labor and
Delivery experience Description: The facility is seeking Registered
Nurses for a Family Birthing Center specializing in Labor and
Delivery. The unit includes a total of 12 beds, with 4 designated
for Labor and Delivery and 8 for Mother/Baby. The nurse-to-patient
ratios are 1:2 during active deliveries and 1:4 for Mother/Baby
couplets. Candidates should have strong emergency skills and the
ability to work independently, especially during night shifts.
Common diagnoses include both term and preterm deliveries, with the
facility handling 45 deliveries per month. Travelers must be
available to work every other weekend and rotate holidays with core
staff. There are 12-hour shifts scheduled from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
Report is conducted at the bedside, and schedules are accessible
remotely. No self-scheduling or block scheduling options are
available. The facility has a dedicated team on-site during the
day, with anesthesia and obstetrics available on-call at night.
Newborns may require brief respiratory support, but high-risk cases
are transferred to a sister facility. Additional notes indicate
that resources may be limited during night shifts. Candidates
should be prepared for potential cancellations of up to 4 shifts
