Job Description Job Description Job Function/Purpose: The
Project Manager is responsible for guiding teams toward the
delivery of successful project(s) spanning one or more vertical
markets. In this role the Project Manager will allocate necessary
resources, define schedules, and develop project budgets as part of
their duties. This role manages arising issues, risks, and change
requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The
Project Manager defines all objectives within each of their
projects while also overseeing quality in achieving these
objectives throughout the project life cycle. The Project Manager
will offer an extension of these duties to each Comtel
Superintendent/ Lead Technician assigned to their team and provide
support when needed. Additional responsibilities will include
participation in process improvement initiatives along with
secondary support to the overall company sales effort. The Project
Manager works closely with the Operations Manager on continued
development and education for all operational staff. Comtel Systems
Technology, Inc. is a Systems Designer/Integrator of High-end
Security, Card Access, CCTV, Communication Systems, Nurse Call
Systems, AV Systems, etc. within the San Francisco Bay Area. Comtel
is actively interviewing prospective Project Management candidates
to fill currently open positions. Comtel provides a positive work
environment with rapid growth potential for proven performance. The
salary range for this role is between $100,000.00 USD and
$135,000.00 USD, based on relevant factors such as education,
experience, and other job related characteristics. Key
Accountabilities: Direct and manage project development from
beginning to end. Administrate projects contractually, including
coordination and management of specialized requirements such as
local participation requirements, certified payroll, etc., as
required by such contracts and agreements. Manage each project to
ensure conformance with plans and specifications, and user defined
requirements, while maintaining cost objectives and maximizing
gross margin and profitability. Complete project invoicing requests
on a timely basis to ensure projects are billed at appropriate
levels, based on cost data and margin expectations. Coordinate with
the Engineering Department to ensure the timely delivery of shop
drawings, equipment submittals, as built drawings, testing forms,
etc. Coordinate the timely procurement of materials, tools, and
equipment to support project defined schedules and deadlines.
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business
goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications
documents. Effectively communicate project expectations to team
members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Estimate
the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals,
while maintaining cost effective staffing levels, minimizing
non-productive time and upholding professional and quality
installation outcomes. Estimate project change orders and write
proposals. Draft and submit revised project budgets and recommend
subsequent budget changes where necessary. Coordinate with the
management team to allocate project manpower resources. Set and
continually manage project expectations and project budget with
team members and other stakeholders. Delegate tasks and
responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify and resolve
issues and conflicts within the project team in conjunction with
the Operations Manager. Identify and manage project dependencies
and critical path. Plan and schedule project timelines and
milestones using appropriate tools. Manage and track project
milestones and deliverables including Weekly Customer Updates,
Submittals, Shop Drawings, Closeout Documents and Redline Drawings.
Coordinate End User Training with the customer and the appropriate
Comtel/Beacon employee(s). Determine the frequency and content of
status reports from the project team, analyze results, and
troubleshoot problem areas. Proactively manage changes in project
scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved
parties throughout project life cycle. Build, develop, and grow any
business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Providing sales and marketing leads to Sales and Service, as
opportunities present themselves. Conduct project closeouts and
create a recommendations report to identify successful and
unsuccessful project elements. Coordinate warranty start dates and
the hand-off process with the Service Department following company
SOP, to ensure a smooth transition to Service. Develop best
practices and tools for project execution and management. Other

Qualifications: Experience managing multiple team members within
the industry is a plus. Technically competent with various software
programs, such as Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and Excel.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented,
collaborative environment is essential. Able to conform to shifting
priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and
problem-solving capabilities. Reacts to project adjustments and
alterations promptly and efficiently. Flexible during times of
change. Ability to read communication styles of team members and
contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines. Adept at
conducting research into project-related issues and products. Must
be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. The
ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a
high-pressure environment is crucial. Demonstrated ability to
communicate effectively in difficult situations with employees with
various personalities and emotions. Must understand implicit
instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be
mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of
people. Is frequently called upon to handle difficult situations
and be held accountable for project outcomes. Strong team player
Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a
professional manner. Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree in
Project Management or 8 years Low Voltage industry experience with
5 years supervisory experience in low voltage systems. Work
Environment: 1. Work environment can be an office environment,
medical facility, educational facility, or a customer site under
construction, renovation or warehouse space. 2. Job sites will have
a variety of environmental factors including but not limited to
noise, dust, and temperature changes 3. Employee must have the
capability to transfer job sites as necessary. Essential Functions:
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping and
stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for
data input. Ability to read and understand construction blueprints.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to carry, set up and traverse a ladder up to 12 feet in
height. Must maintain a valid drivers license. Must maintain a
clear background check to satisfy customer job site badging
requirements. Must be willing to submit to all vaccinations and
screening tests required for customer jobsite badging protocol.
Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol. 20-30% travel
