Novate Solutions Inc. a process control engineering firm providing engineering and managed services to a variety of industrial clients with offices in Livermore and West Sacramento, CA is looking for a Support Specialist to join our Industrial Manages Services Team at our location in West Sacramento, CA. Under immediate supervision this individual must have the ability to be client facing, have general awareness of multiple industrial environments, provide support initiative, and be extremely organized with a keen eye for detail. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver exceptional off-site customer service to our clients by effectively managing your time to complete a variety of daily tasks. Examples include, monitoring client industrial systems/sites remotely, monitoring and handling customer tickets, and resolving any ticket issues in a timely manner while meeting all company quality control requirements and keeping customers briefed on escalating ticket statuses. The ideal individual is curious with an investigative mindset, wants to resolve complex issues and problems, is flexible, a team player, works well under pressure in a constantly fast paced environment. To be successful in this role, the ideal individual must:

  • Be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Have industrial troubleshooting experience in an automation or controls environment.
  • Be a self-starter, driven to take initiative and is highly self-motivated.
  • Be well organized with exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
    Responsibilities:
    • Provide off-site client support as needed for critical process failures and warranty support for automation solutions.
    • Engage in review and problem solving to identify options for resolving client issues and mitigating down-time.
    • Provide input and recommendations to help client self-resolve issues, understand the implication of those recommendations, and anticipate efficiency, compliance, safety and operational needs.
    • Monitor client systems for active events with an eye towards preventing client downtime.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
      Required Skills and Experience:
      • Minimum 2-4 years of Industrial Managed Services or similar industries, such as industrial control and automation troubleshooting.
      • Familiarity with Ignition based SCADA systems.
      • Must display the desire and willingness to learn complex industrial control systems.
      • Must possess good analytical skills including, the ability to process information in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Able to demonstrate good work habits including excellent attendance patterns.
      • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
      • Experienced in MS Office Suite.
      • Experience with project or task-based programs such as Autotask, Monday, Tririga
      • Basic awareness of industry and regulatory standards relevant to Instrumentation and Controls.
      • Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service under pressure.
      • Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion involving company and client proprietary systems.
      • Conduct and present himself/herself in a professional manner.
      • Ability to type 35+ WPM
      • US Citizenship required

        Additional Skills that are Desirable:
        • Familiarity or experience with PAC/PLC programming and SCADA platforms.
        • Knowledge of Rockwell RS Logix, Beckhoff Twin Cat, Allen Bradley VFD systems, Siemens and exposure to multiple PLC manufactures and platforms.
        • Intermediate knowledge of HMI/SCADA programming: System Platform, Ignition, Factory Talk View SE.
        • Awareness of remote conference tools such as Zoom, Webex and Teams.
        • Project coordination or management experience a plus.
          Education:Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.

          Physical Demands:The ability to lift up to 20 pounds with frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and crawling into confined spaces. Constantly monitoring multiple computer screens.
          Travel Requirement:Ability to travel when necessary, for company business.

          Work Authorization/Security Clearance:Ability to pass a background check.
